Wine calendar: all the wine events of 2018
Are you passionate about wine? We have collected all the wine events of the next months of 2018 in a calendar to consult to know where to go.
Wine lovers always have an appointment on their agenda. While the general public limits itself to marking Vinitaly or the various nearest Open Cellars on the calendar ,choose the festival or tasting closest to youthose who make wine their job or the center of their food and wine passion (without necessarily transcending alcoholism), has more than a couple of tastings to follow. For this reason we have decided to create a calendar of the next 10 months in order to allow you to choose the most complete festival or tasting near you, in which you will not only compare yourself with local producers, but with the masters of winemaking from all over the world. There is also some dates abroad for those wishing to combine pleasure with another pleasure, with a trip.
17/18 March – Vignaioli Artigiani Naturali – Rome
The fair that offers the top of artisanal wine production will be held in the City of the Other Economy in Rome and will bring together the winemakers who have voted their business to natural wine.
18/20 March – Prowein – Dusseldorg, Germany
Reserved for the professional public, ProWein is the wine fair in Germany dedicated to those who trade wine at retail and wholesale, to those who work in the hotel sector, in the gastronomy and in the transformation trade.
23/25 March – Saracena Wine Festival – Saracena (Cs)
The village in the heart of Pollino, famous for the Moscato Slow Food Presidium, will bring together local wine producers, chefs and professionals of the agri-food chain.
21/25 March – Vinifera – Trento
Vinifera is a Forum dedicated to Alpine artisanal wines: between events, conferences, winery visits and tastings, the event culminates on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March 2018 in the Exhibition of artisanal wines of the Alps, which will be held at TrentoFiere.
7/8 April – Roero Days – Guarene (Cn)
Event dedicated to Roero Docg wines, which aims to enhance the wine area where professionals and enthusiasts converge, also focusing attention on the local food and wine scene.
7/8 April – Pesaro Wine Festival – Pesaro
Born from an idea of Gianluca Galeazzi, the event involves the city of Pesaro, the heart of the Marche, a region with a strong concentration of wineries in Italy. In addition to numerous tastings, there will also be concerts and theatrical performances.
April 9 – Campania Stories – Naples
According to the organizers, the 2018 edition will be the record edition, which will once again highlight the new vintages of wines produced in Campania.
13/15 April – ViniVeri – Cerea (Vr)
An event dedicated only to natural wines.
April 14/15 – Summa – Magrè sulla Strada del Vino (Bz)
The annual appointment with Summa organized by the Alois Lageder Estate in Magrè Sulla Strada del Vino in Alto Adige, dedicated to international winemaking excellence, is back.
14/16 April – VinNatur – Sarego (Vi)
Among the events dedicated to natural wines in Italy, the one that will be held in Villa Favorita and which brings together European winemakers, eager to share techniques and experiences of their work, is not to be missed.
15/18 April – Vinitaly – Verona
Vinitaly needs no introduction: in Italy it remains the reference event in the sector for professionals and enthusiasts.
April 21 / May 1 – Vinum – Alba (Cn)
Tastings, street food and Vinumincantina are the three cornerstones of the event, which also offers a moment designed for children. All in the heart of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato.
23 April – Contrade dell’Etna – Randazzo (Ct)
From the largest volcano in Europe to the table: Contrade dell’Etna brings together all the companies of eastern Sicily.
28/29 April – Only Wine Festival – Città di Castello (Pg)
Only Wine Festival is the National Exhibition of Young Producers and Small Wineries, which aims to enhance the best of the production of over 500 labels in the historic center of Città di Castello, in the province of Perugia.
5/7 May – Days of Pinot Noir – Egna and Montagna (Bz)
Pinot noir at the center of the event which is part of the Strade del Vino circuit and which sees the local producers working the vine and their latest vintages at the center.
6/7 May – I Wine – Santa Severa (Rm)
” I, the wine, tell a story of several years going through history, I the wine steeped in souls, families, work, efforts and … glory “: this is the thought leading the Lazio event.
11/13 May – Porto Cervo Wine Festival – Porto Cervo (Ss) (dates to be confirmed)
The wine and food festival showcases the best of Sardinian and national wine and gastronomic production, involving food and wine in a single appointment.
13/15 May – Naturale, Salone del Vino Artigianale – Capestrano (Aq)
This is the first exhibition dedicated to artisanal wine in Abruzzo, where you can taste the unique vintages and discuss with the winemakers.
19/20 May – Vinissage – Asti
Vinissage is the most important Piedmontese showcase on natural wines from organic and biodynamic agriculture. The Michelerio complex in Asti will be the backdrop to the event, which will welcome professionals and enthusiasts with tastings and cultural events.
19/20 May – TerroirMarche – Macerata
Between workshops, exhibitions, tastings, TerroirMarche aims to enhance its territory and its producers in a festival that combines wine, food and even music and photography.
19/20 May – FIVI in Cinecittà – Rome
Independent winemakers in the Theater: the exhibition market will actually be held at the Teatro 10 in Cinecittà, linking the event to an artistic location apparently far from the world of wine.
20/21 May – Vinessum – Bagnacavallo (Ra)
Vignaioli also protagonists at the event born from an idea of Andrea Marchetti, now in its fifth edition.
20/22 May – VitignoItalia – Naples
It is one of the most important wine events in Italy and for this edition it is preparing to live in the rooms of the Castel dell’Ovo in Naples.
26 May – Cantine Aperte
This is not a festival, but a real wine thrill that runs through the entire peninsula and involves wineries throughout Italy, favoring direct contact between producers and consumers.
May 29/31 – Vinexpo – Hong Kong
The Vinexpo operation never has a single location. For the 20th anniversary, the fair dedicated to professional and passionate visitors will take place in Hong Kong.
1/3 June – Italia in Rosa – Monica del Garda (Bs)
This is the most important Italian event dedicated to rosé wines, with over 100 labels for free tasting inside the castle of Moniga, on the Brescia side of Lake Garda.
5/11 June – Radici del Sud – Sannicandro di Bari
Inside the Norman Swabian Castle, the wines and oils of the South meet in one of the most important events in the sector in Puglia.
8/17 June – Vinòforum – Rome
Tastings with tickets and events open to the public make up the varied offer of Vinòforum, which again this year returns to Lungotevere Maresciallo Diaz.
15/16 June – Mare e Vitovska – Duino (Ts)
Trieste Mare Morje Vitovska celebrates the most famous native vine of the Trieste, Gorizia and Slovenian Karst. The winemakers of the Karst-Kras in collaboration with the restaurants of the area, in the suggestive location of the Duino Castle, offer tastings and meetings with the public.
15/17 June – Roséxpo – Lecce
Another festival dedicated to rosé wine, one of the symbols of the Apulian terroir, which boasts an unparalleled experience in the field of rosé.
June 28 / July 1 – Müller Thurgau: Mountain wine – Cembra (Tn)
Born in the Cembra Valley, Müller Thurgau is celebrated by this festival which also represents an excellent opportunity to discover a magical territory.
6/8 July – Ein Prosit Grado – Grado (Go)
Meetings, seminars, itineraries of taste and of course guided tastings to suggest to wine lovers a correct approach to wine, supporting them step by step in tasting local wines and in discovering the history of their producers.

As with Cantine Aperte, the Movimento Turismo del Vino renews the Calici di Stelle initiative which, from North to South, on starry nights in August, brings together wine lovers and producers to embellish summer evenings .
Soave Versus – Verona (dates to be confirmed)
Show cooking and tastings tell the Soave region through food and wine combinations of local products.
Enologica Montefalco – Montefalco (Pg) (dates to be confirmed)
Enologica Montefalco is the most important event dedicated to Montefalco Sagrantino, one of the most important Docg wines in Italy which turns 25 this year.
Eroico Rosso – Tirano (So) (dates to be confirmed)
Three days dedicated to Valtellina red wines in the splendid setting of the noble palaces of the historic center of Abduano.
October – Terre di Vite – Castelvetro (Mo) (dates to be confirmed)
Food, culture and of course wines in the event that in the Castello di Levizzano tries to tell about Italy through its wine and food and wine production.
15/16 October – Autochtona – Bolzano
In the heart of South Tyrol, where the wine culture is among the oldest in Europe, Autochtona turns the spotlight on the most well-known denominations as well as on the lesser-known ones of the great Italian wine heritage.
18/21 October – Ein Prosit – Tarvisio (Ud)
Taste itineraries, tasting exhibition and tasting guide complete with chef dinners in the Tarvisio area. A unique story of the territory through food and wines.
Wine and Sardinia – Sorgono (Nu) (dates to be confirmed)
The event starts from a competition open to all wineries and winemaking productions in Sardinia. The event culminates with the awarding of the participating companies judged by leading personalities from the world of wine.
27/29 October – Taormina Gourmet – Taormina (Me)
All the goodness of the world of wine and food in three days spent in the shade of an open-air archaeological park.
Vini di Vignaioli – Fornovo di Taro (Pr) (dates to be confirmed)
The meeting of those Italian and French winemakers who work with native vines and offer a personal interpretation of their terroir, is at the center of the event that will allow a vast public to discover and deepen the knowledge of this wealth.

Stazione Leopolda hosts the 46th FISAR National Congress: admission is reserved for members, enthusiasts and operators in the sector.
9/13 November – Merano Wine Festival – Merano (Bz)
Five days full of contents and ideas, with over 450 wineries, among the best in Italy and in the world, and the support of 200 artisans of taste and 15 chefs.

MareDiVino is the great showcase of the wines of the Province of Livorno, offered for tasting to the public of operators and enthusiasts.

An appointment dedicated to wine and the typical product of Emilia Romagna, in the setting of Palazzo Enzo in Bologna.
Vini Corsari – Barolo (Cn) (dates to be confirmed)
European winemakers who have made their work a challenge to the wine sector establishment meet in Barolo to tell about their latest productions.
