What is the price of the kitchen equipment?

Here is the estimated price of kitchen accessories  that everyone should have in their kitchen for food preparation:

  • A peeler to peel fruits and vegetables costs between € 5 and € 10. It is important to pay attention to the material (stainless steel, ceramic, plastic) and the resistance of the utensil when choosing it,
  • A good kitchen knife: to slice, cut and chop, you will need to have at least 20 euros to buy a proper knife  . Don’t forget the sharpener, unless you choose a ceramic knife,
  • A cutting board:  to avoid damaging the countertop. It costs between € 7 and € 13 depending on the material of the table and its size.

To cook meat, legumes and vegetables, here are the essential tools:

  • One pot:  If you live alone, one pot may be enough, otherwise buy at least two. It is necessary to have between € 18 and € 30 for a pot with a diameter of 20 cm (depending on the coating),
  • One Skillet –  From the nonstick coating to the cast iron skillet, there is a huge difference in price and quality. A 28 cm frying pan costs between € 15 and € 35,
  • A wooden spoon and spatula – These are  often sold in batches and avoid damaging pans and pots when stirring ingredients. You should have around € 5 for this essential purchase,
  • A lid:  to prevent the fat from escaping, there are glass or stainless steel lids. They can be sold separately and in this case they cost between € 15 and € 25, or directly together with a frying pan or pot. It is always better to save money and make sure the lid is the right one,
  • A strainer:  Opt for a fine-hole strainer to strain broths, rice, and any type of pasta. It costs between € 5 and € 10 depending on the size and material chosen,
  • A baking tray:  indispensable when you want to gratinate dishes. Usually made of glass, sometimes stainless steel, it costs between € 7 and € 20 depending on its size.

Of course, if you are a passionate pastry chef, you should also invest in a measuring cup, a weight, some rods and a salad bowl to mix the ingredients, at a minimum.

Cooking allows you to control your diet and eat healthier by avoiding processed products as much as possible. When you begin?
