The tortellini pasticcio is a rich and tasty single dish prepared with tortellini cooked and au gratin in the oven with tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and parmesan . Perfect for the party table or even for recycling leftover tortellini in broth, tortellini pie is a dish that the whole family will enjoy. You can use homemade tortellini or those purchased ready-made for a super quick recipe. A light crust on the surface and stringy layers of mozzarella welcome this fresh filled pasta which becomes even tastier in the pasticcio version.


Preparation Tortellini pie

    1. Prepare the tomato sauce: in a saucepan, sauté the chopped onion, add the puree. Bring to the boil, season with salt and cook the sauce for 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and add basil to taste.

    1. Spread a small ladle of sauce on the bottom of an ovenproof dish. Pour in a third of the cooked tortellini.

    1. Dress with tomato sauce, sliced ​​mozzarella, a few basil leaves and grated Parmesan.

    1. Continue with another layer of tortellini and seasoning.

    1. Finish with a last layer of tortellini, a generous round of tomato sauce, a few slices of mozzarella and a lot of parmesan. Bake the pie at 200 ° C for about 20 minutes. Operate the grill for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Remove from the oven, let settle for a few minutes and serve.
