Sparkle Day 2018, the Roman appointment on Italian bubbles

The tenth edition of Sparkle Day will take place on 2 December in Rome: at the Westin Excelsior Hotel for the largest tasting of Italian bubbles.

The best bubbles in Italy are back for tasting in Rome . In fact, on December 2nd , Sparkle turns ten and celebrates, as usual, with great fanfare, on the occasion of the presentation of the new 2018 guide . The event, now a ritual, will see the bottles of over seventy companies from all over Italy on display, for a total of about three hundred labels, which can be tasted in the elegant rooms of the Westin Excelsior Hotel .


As usual, the event will open with the presentation of the guide, with the curator Francesco d’Agostino – editor of Kitchen & Wine , the historical magazine published by always driving Sparkle – will be spurred by the pair of Radio Capital formed Mary Cacciola and Andrea Lucatello , the famous There is no duo without three . Then, the presentation will culminate in the awarding of the seventy 5 spheres  of the 2018 edition.


” When we made the first selection in 2002 and proposed it at the end of November of that year – says Francesco D’Agostino, director of Cucina & Vini– our commitment resulted in the awarding of ten wines with the 5 spheres. Seven times more may seem like a lot in sixteen years, but in truth the real revolution of Italian sparkling wine is not that of having produced bubbles for all budgets to be sold anywhere in the world, without major differences, but rather that of having grown a lot in quality. , having also spread the know-how throughout the country, with sparkling wine districts that now represent a model for the whole world, in terms of quality, organization, remuneration, landscape protection, sustainability. The 5 spheres of 2018 contain all this, an important message from the wine family that has made progress more than the others in the last twenty years “.


Alongside the tasting of bubbles there will be some food stations, including one dedicated to better fresh fish , one to Meraviglie in Pasta pasta  and one with Optymum cured meats and cheeses .
