We are approaching the feast of December 8 and in my city it is customary to go to the fire. The fires are nothing more than piles of wood and other waste material which is set on fire (hence the dialect term). The fochera is the luminous path that led to the holy house of Loreto, where it is currently located.


  • 400 gr dried broad beans
  • parsley
  • garlic
  • chili


  1. Soak the beans for at least half a day.
  2. Boil them in abundant salted water.
  3. Prepare the minced garlic, parsley and chilli.
  4. Drain the beans and season. You eat well both hot and lukewarm accompanied by a good red wine.
