In this role cucumber, avocado, crab meat or sometimes crab salad use as an alternative of crab meat. In this also sesame seeds are sprinkled in the layer of rice.

Ingredients:

The list of required ingredients along with their measured values are:

  • 1 cup of uncooked short-grain white rice
  • 1 cup of water
  • ¼ cup of rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp of white sugar
  • ½ cup of imitation crab meat, finely chopped it
  • ¼ cup of mayonnaise
  • 8 sheets nori (dry seaweed)
  • Bamboo rolling mat
  • Plastic wrap
  • 2 and ½ tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 cucumber, cut it into thin pieces
  • 2 avocados-pitted, peeled it then sliced in vertical sections.

Methods of preparation:

Step by step instructions for the preparation and cooking of California roll sushi is:

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly in several changes of water. Stop rinsing when rinsing water becomes clear, no longer washing requires. Now take a covered pan or cooker for cooking of rice. Add 1 cup water with rice in cooker or pan and when it boils then reduce the heat to simmer with a covering of pan or cooker. Allow until the top of the rice looks dry for 15 minutes. Turn of the heat, remove from the stove and let the rice absorb remaining water for 10 minutes.

So, now wet your finger and make even layer of rice over the nori with leaving the bottom line uncovered almost ¼ inch from the bottom edge of the sheet. Sprinkle over the rice about ½ tsp of sesame seeds, and gently press them into the rice layer. Now carefully roll the nori sheet such that the seaweed side is on the upper site.
  2. Then, take 2 0r 3 long pieces of cucumber, 2 or 3 slices of avocado, and almost 1 tbsp of imitation crab mixture in a line across the nori sheet, about ¼ away from the uncovered edge. Carefully pick up the edge of the bamboo rolling sheet, and fold the bottom edge of the sheet up, close-fitted the all stuffing and roll the sushi into a cylinder about 1 and ½ inch diameter. Then wrap this sushi roll in the mat and gently squeeze and form a compact roll.
  3. So, now take a sharp knife and cut each roll into 1inch pieces with a knife dipped in water.
