 Conceived and organized by the Fermento Birra network , the award offers the opportunity to get to know the reality of Italian breweries more closely. After a super-selection (almost a thousand candidates) 150 craft beers on tap produced by 25 Italian breweries were identified and offered to the general public, beers for tasting during the 3 days of the event in Florence.a jury of 100 people including journalists, tasters and expertsIn order to identify the shortlist of finalists, the prize was entrusted to a jury made up of journalists, judges, tasters and experts . The 100 experts evaluated the work of the Italian brewers, with particular attention to philosophy, technical skill and ultimately also to the results obtained during the year. All decisive values ​​to identify the 20 finalists for the main prize and the 5 for the emerging category. News and confirmations, as mentioned, characterized the event which offered excellences also appreciated abroad.

For Vezzoli, the victory comes after a relatively short journey to reach the top: until a few years ago he built recording studios, including the one for Liga, then the decision to open a microbrewery with his brother Raoul. In the space of three years he went from emerging to big and this year he beat Marco Valeriani of the Hammer brewery , already winner of 2016 and conqueror of second place, in the final. Vezzoli beers are prepared in German style, ” raw with passion ” as he likes to define them. The strong point of the product is the water, particularly light and almost free of mineral salts, which makes the difference. Lorenzo Kuaska proclaimed Vezzoli the winnerDabove, taster and presenter of the event for several years now. On the podium in addition to Vezzoli and Valeriani, in third place Luigi D’Amelio of the Extraomnes brewery, already winner of the 2013 edition .
