Apple tartlets with jam

Apple tartlets are a very easy dessert to make, embellished the filling with a greedy layer of jam.

The pies applein the shape of a rose are a dessert that is very simple to make and with a great visual impact. The choice of apples can vary according to taste but gala apples give an intense red color that increases their beauty. The jam can also be omitted but it intensifies the taste and gluttony. Cooking is very important and must be followed carefully. Prolonged heat could cause the apple slices to burn but, on the other hand, the pastry inside must cook well. It is therefore important to check the cakes in the oven and move them off the shelf if necessary. The preparation is really fast and without difficulty, so they can be prepared at the last moment. They are excellent alone for a snack, to accompany a tea or for breakfast but,

Preparation Apple tartlets

    1. Wash and dry the apples, then divide them in half and cut them into thin slices, without removing the peel.

    1. Bring a little water with lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of sugar to a boil and blanch the apple slices for about two minutes then drain and place them on a cloth to dry. From the rectangular shortcrust pastry roll, make six 6 cm high strips of dough. On each one distribute a spoonful of jam then the slices of apple, slightly overlapping, making sure that they protrude at the top.

    1. Fold the bottom edge of the dough over the base of the apples, so as to close them. Seal the edges well.

    1. Roll up the strip to form shortcrust pastry cakes in the shape of a rose.

    1. Do the same with all the other strips. Arrange the tartlets in a muffin mold. Bake at 180 ° C for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool and serve with a sprinkling of icing sugar.
